Staithes Town Website is full of useful information and photographs
Pubs and Cafes

There are two pubs in the old part of the village, The Cod and Lobster on the Harbour front, recently nicely refurbished and serving good food, and The Royal George on the High Street, a cosy friendly pub. On the top of the bank just above Bellebeck, our holiday cottage in Staithes, is The Captain Cook Inn which often has live music. At Dalehouse just over the Whitby- Saltburn road is the Fox and Hounds which is particularly good for Sunday Lunch and meals generally.
There are presently 3 cafes; the Seadrift Cafe on the Harbour, The Cleveland Corner Bistro in the lower village and The Tea Shop near the car park, all well worth a visit.
Shops in the village include a very good butchers, The Gift Shop which sells EVERYTHING!, The Kessen Bowl for gifts and seasidey things, The Emporium for items of clothing, jewellery and gifts. There is also a Co-op and various other shops within easy walking distance.
Not to be missed is the excellent Staithes Art Gallery and The Captain Cook Museum, a delightfully quirky museum.
